Domestic violence in the pro wrestling industry has been in the spotlight recently, with high-profile cases involving wrestlers coming to light. Artem Chigvintsev, the husband of WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia, was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge. Odyssey Jones was also removed from the WWE roster following allegations of domestic violence against him.
Adding to the concerning trend, former WWE NXT UK star, Amale, recently spoke out about alleged abuse she faced from her ex-boyfriend and former WWE Cruiserweight Classic competitor, Tristan Archer. Amale detailed physical, psychological, and emotional abuse during their relationship, including instances of humiliation, cheating, and threats towards her and her family. She also mentioned that after their breakup, Archer showed regret for his actions and made efforts to prevent her from speaking out.
Amale recounted a disturbing incident where Archer verbally abused her during an argument on the way to a show, making racially insensitive remarks about being prejudiced against for being white while Amale, who is Arab, was given more opportunities. She further claimed that Archer engaged in stalking, harassment of her and her partner, and tried to sabotage her wrestling career by speaking negatively about her to promoters.
In response to Amale’s claims, promotions, including WWE, took action to exclude Archer from working with them. Despite the impact of the abuse on her physical and mental well-being, Amale bravely decided to speak out against Archer’s behavior. She thanked her supporters and revealed that legal action against Archer was ongoing.
