At 83 years old, Funk Jr. recently participated in a Double Hell Current Explosion Death Match at the FMW-E Terry Funk Memorial & Atsushi Onita 50th Anniversary event in Kawasaki, Japan.
Teaming up with Osamu Nishimura, who is also no young buck at age 52 and battling stage 4 cancer, Funk Jr. showed his unwavering dedication to the sport. Despite the odds stacked against them, Funk Jr. and Nishimura emerged victorious against their opponents Atsushi Onita and Raijin Yaguchi after a hard-fought match that lasted over 13 minutes.
This event marked Funk Jr.’s return to hardcore wrestling after a remarkable career that began in 1963, making it an astounding 61 years since his debut.
