Rey Mysterio, the WWE Hall of Famer, is set to be a part of the upcoming Netflix special event called Joey Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef, as announced during the August 26 episode of WWE Raw.
Rey Mysterio will be joining Omos for this event, which is scheduled to air live on Netflix on September 2.
The event will be hosted by actor/comedian Rob Riggle and TV Personality WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia, with Cari Champion and Chris Rose providing commentary.
In addition to the main event, the undercard bouts will feature competitive eater Matt Stonie and Guinness World Record holder Leah Shutkever.
The event will take place at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas within the Luxor Hotel & Casino, and it is produced by Den of Thieves.
The show’s executive producers include David Friedman, Nicole Lucas Haimes, Daniel Calin, Evan Prager, Jesse Ignjatovic, and Jared Morell.
Chestnut VS. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef follows other live sports events on Netflix like The Netflix Cup and The Netflix Slam, along with future events such as the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match.
Netflix Sports is expanding its content, including exclusive streaming rights to WWE Raw starting in 2025 and NFL games on Christmas in 2024-26.
