Join us for a recap of the latest “WWE NXT” episode that aired on August 27, 2024, live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Joe Hendry, set to challenge Ethan Page for the NXT Championship at “NXT” No Mercy, is gearing up for his title shot by holding his second performance for WWE fans. Hendry earned his title shot by winning a Triple Threat Number One Contenders Match against Wes Lee and Pete Dunne in the previous week’s episode of “NXT”.
The tensions between former friends Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz will come to a head in their final meeting before their showdown in Denver, Colorado. Following their unsuccessful bid for the NXT Tag Team Championship, Lee betrayed Wentz and Trey Miguel with an attack, leading to Wentz retaliating by blindsiding Lee in the last episode.
In a Mixed Six Person Tag Team Match, Luca Crusifino, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, and Adriana Rizzo of The Family will face off against No Quarter Catch Crew’s Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne, and Wren Sinclair. The rivalry between these two stables escalated from a disagreement over a job that led to Dempsey winning the “NXT” Heritage Cup Champion title from Tony D’Angelo on August 13.
Meanwhile, Karmen Petrovic will challenge Izzi Dame in a singles match, continuing their competitive history as opponents in the ring from previous Live Events and the March 8 episode of “NXT” Level Up. Additionally, Je’Von Evans will face off against Joe Coffey, while Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson will go head-to-head with Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley of Fatal Influence.
