WWE has officially announced that Wade Barrett will be joining Joe Tessitore as part of the announce team for Raw starting on September 2nd. Wade Barrett will be providing color commentary while Pat McAfee fulfills his obligations with ESPN College GameDay. McAfee is set to return to the team once Raw moves to Netflix on January 5, 2025.
In July, WWE introduced Joe Tessitore as the new play-by-play announcer for Raw. Tessitore has a strong background in broadcasting, having called football and boxing matches for ESPN.
For Friday Night SmackDown, Michael Cole and Corey Graves will be the new announce team when the show returns to the USA Network on September 13. Pat McAfee, who was previously teaming up with Cole on WWE Raw, concluded his current tenure with WWE on August 19 to concentrate on ESPN College GameDay and college football. He is scheduled to make his return to the announce team in January.
This change in the announcer lineup adds a fresh perspective and voice to the commentary, offering fans a new experience and insights during WWE broadcasts.
