Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, a WWE Hall of Fame legend, has revealed that he is rejoining the WWE family with a new WWE Legends contract. His announcement was made during an episode of “INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet,” which was released on the official YouTube channel of WWE. Ventura’s return to the WWE comes after a positive shift in his relationship with the company, as he mentioned that contracts have been drafted, agreed upon, and only await signatures from both parties.
Ventura credited Vince McMahon’s absence as a significant factor in renewing his ties with WWE, citing the company’s merger with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and subsequent corporate restructuring. According to him, the modern WWE is more open and approachable, steering away from the restrictive practices prevalent in past eras of wrestling.
When asked about returning to commentary, Ventura expressed doubt, stating that he doesn’t agree with the current content of wrestling shows. He highlighted the lack of personalities like “Mean Gene” Okerlund and criticized the predictability of modern storylines that he believes have turned wrestlers into actors reciting scripted lines.
Ventura also shared an intriguing story about proposing a massive political angle to Vince McMahon, outlining a fantasy scenario where WWE would launch its political party with him as the presidential nominee. However, Vince turned down the idea without offering any feedback, leaving Ventura feeling disrespected and disappointed by the lack of communication.
